Exploring the Contours of Humanity: 'Body Lines' Art Exhibit April 28 & 29

April 12, 2023 Bodacious Betty

Catch all the angles at “Body Lines”, a nude art exhibit at Lake Como Resort, in Lutz, FL April 28 & 29.

Body Lines is a two-day nude art exhibit Friday & Saturday April 28 & 29 that showcases the beauty and diversity of the human form through various mediums, including painting, sculpture, and live entertainment.

Visitors can expect to see a range of stunning artworks that celebrate the naked body in all its glory, including live body painting demonstrations as well as a tarot card reader. The exhibit will also feature a fully stocked bar with plenty of wine and spirits to enjoy while taking in the art.

This exhibit is a celebration of the human body and the creative talents of the participating artists. Don’t miss this unique opportunity to see art and entertainment in a whole new light.

Ambience: Body Lines is being held at Lake Como, a traditional nudist resort established in 1941,where nudity is the expected community standard and is an unexceptional everyday experience; therefore visitors should expect to mingle with nude people of all ages and body types. Visitors to the exhibit are expected to share and enjoy the nude experience while at Como. Kinky or provocative clothing or behavior is always counter to the resort rules. Nudist etiquette also requires all persons to carry a towel to sit on when nude. All visitors who choose to use the pool, hot tub or sauna must be nude.

Amenities: Lake Como’s Butt Hutt Bar serves draft beer, wine and spirits and will be open throughout he exposition. Please drink responsibly. Food will be available at the Bare Buns Cafe until 9:00 pm Friday and Saturday. The bar & cafe accept payment by cash or credit card.

Photography:  The use of cameras or any device capable of recording a still image or video by guests is prohibited. (However, there will be designated photographers documenting the event.)

Age restrictions: Resort policy does not allow the admission of persons under 18 years of age, unless accompanied by a parent or legal guardian, exercising continuous custodial care.

Admission: $20 per person allows entry to the exhibit and to Lake Como Resort facilities one or both days,. Admission is payable at the exhibit – No tickets will be sold in advance. Visitors must present a valid driver’s license or other government photo ID for admission.

Exhibit hours:  Friday April 28: 6 pm to 10 pm (opening reception) – Saturday April 29: noon to 11 pm

10 Boudoir Trends or Themes to Try

November 17, 2016 Bodacious Betty

Nudescape or Bodyscape:  Usually done nude, but not always

So, beyond lace and leather, what else should you consider when planning your boudoir session?

It’s totally uncheesy (is that a word?) to think about a theme or a trend that appeals to you.  In fact, I actually encourage it because it gives you a role to play; it’s much easier to be uninhibited when you’re playing a character.

Here are a few ideas to help you plan your dream session:

1)   Bodyscapes or Nudescapes:  While there’s not much role-play in shots like this, these are low-key images that are shot against a black backdrop and meant show off the curves of the body while leaving other areas in shadow.  These images can be done in both color or black and white, and look great displayed as wall art.

2)   Bohemian:  Flowers, lace, and gauzy material dominate this look.

The Cat Set from Hips and Curves $14.95

3)   The Cat Lady:  Whether it’s a cat suit or actual cats, you can show off your feminine side with some smoky cat-eyes and voluminous waves.  Add some cat ears or some elbow length gloves and you’re the cat’s meow.

4)   The Chef:  the prop ideas here are endless.  The only wardrobe requirement is an apron of some sort and a pair of stilettos.

5)   White Sheets:  a la Marilyn MonroeWear little or nothing underneath, and just use the sheet to drape or hide areas accordingly.  It’s simple, clean, and timeless.  If you’re not the type to wear lingerie, this is a great theme to go with.

6)   The Movies:  Takes some inspiration from the silver screen, be it 50 Shades of Gray or Harry Potter.   Wear a lace mask over your eyes, or bring a magic wand.  You get the idea.

7)   The Nerd:  If comic books and glasses are your thing, well, pull up your knee highs, and push those glasses up because I’m about to make being a geek , chic.  You’re Welcome.

8)   The Private Investigator, or Whatever Profession. Let your dream job play center stage for a day.

Silver Tapestry Corset and Skirt Set $79.95

9)   The Courtesan:  Let’s put on a Marie Antoinette wig and some thigh highs and let them eat cake.

10)  Couture for Sure! Wear your Louboutins and your La Perla.  I’ll provide the props with all the designer names:  Chanel, Louis, and Dom will all make an appearance.

Ultimately, when it comes to deciding what to wear, and who to be for the day, you want to think with the end in mind (pun intended)!  If you think you will be displaying the images as wall art, think about the colors in the room you will be displaying your art in, and if the chosen theme will fit in with your décor.

Hopefully, I’ve given you some ideas to get the ball rolling.  If you need more, I’m happy to help.
